Novak Djokovic Breezes Through To The Semifinals At AO 2023

Novak Djokovic is into the second week at the Australian Open 2023 without a hitch. He is to play American Tommy Paul on Friday for a spot in the finals for the first Grand Slam title of the year. The win against Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals is his 39th consecutive win in Australia.

Novak Djokovic had incredible luck with his draw, with Nick Kryrios withdrawing from the tournament there was no one in his way in the quarter of his draw. He breezed through the matches dropping only 1 set against Enzo Couacaud. He passed these players in order of round 1 to Quarterfinals ; Roberto Carballés Baena, Enzo Couacaud, [27] Grigor Dimitrov, [22] Alex De Minaur & [5] Andrey Rublev.

He will face 25 year old American Tommy Paul in the semifinals. The two players have never played each other before. It will be interesting to see what Tommy can bring to the court against one of the greatest tennis players of all time. Novak Djokovic is 9-0 in his semi-finals and 9-0 in his finals appearances at the Australian Open. Should Novak Djokovic make it past Tommy Paul, he will either face the number 18th seed Karen Khachanov or the 3rd seed Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Novak Djokovic is now looking positively to go till the end despite the hamstring discomfort to clinch his 10th Australian Open title - which also would be his 22nd Grand Slam title!
