Novak Djokovic Triumphs Over Nick Krygios To Win Wimbledon 2022

On the 10th July 2022, top seed Novak Djokovic snagged his 7th Wimbledon gentlemen’s singles title and also his 4th consecutive one. It is definitely one very special day for Novak, not only because he won his 7th Wimbledon title but also because he won it on his wedding anniversary.

The match ended in 4 sets with scores 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7-3). Starting off great was Nick Krygios who took the first set, but Novak turned the tables and won the next 3 sets. Nick did not make it easy for Novak, but Novak with the support from the crowd and the advantage on grass he pulled through and clinched his 7th Wimbledon Singles title.

Unfortunately for Nick Krygios, the first time Grand Slam Finalist, was unable to have an edge against Novak despite having no set loss in previous meetings. This match was probably one of the biggest moments in his career, and would be a great memory for him despite the loss. Not sure if we will ever see him come this far ever again. Well, at least he managed to turn a foe into a friend at the end of this year’s Wimbledon.

Everyone knows that a match with Nick definitely will not ever end quietly; however, this match was not quite what we expected. Novak himself mentioned during an interview that there will be fireworks on the court during the finals, however both parties somehow did not end up “clashing” like many were expecting. In turn, we got a taste of a new “bromance” but of course the match did not go down without any controversy due to Nick’s ethics and behaviors towards the crowd during the match.

A great achievement by Novak Djokovic no doubt. We hope and wish him all the best, perhaps he might have a chance at 30 Grand Slam titles before he retires! Also, we most definitely hope that Nick Krygios goes further, but at the same time we feel he should work on managing his temperament and ethics. Good luck to both of them!
