Nick Kyrgios Makes History At Citi Open 2022

On 8th August Nick Kyrgios made history as the first person to win both the Citi Open singles and doubles title in the same tournament. Coming off a really good run from Wimbledon last month, he managed to claim his 7th singles title as well as his 4th doubles title at the Citi Open in Washington. With the win from the tournament, Kyrgios moves back into the top 40 after his highest ranking recorded in February 2020.

Despite having to play 4 singles matches in 3 days due to inclement weather in Washington, he managed to pull through without much fatigue and clinch the title. He even played back-to-back finals at the Citi Open as he had to return to the court just an hour after he claimed the singles title to play alongside his doubles partner Jack Sock.

This win is his first singles title from an ATP tour after a 3-year long singles title drought. Kyrgios is just grateful for the people who have been supporting him. The last 6 months have been great for Nick who made it to the Grand Slam singles finals for the first time in his career, and having won 1 Grand Slam Doubles title at the Australian Open, 1 ATP singles title and 2 ATP Doubles titles.

We hope that he will continue his stellar performance and put up his best tennis for both singles and doubles!
