Daniil Medvedev Acquires 3rd Consecutive Title In Dubai
Daniil Medvedev took the crown in Dubai in straight sets 6-2,6-2 in just an hour and eight minutes from his good friend Andrey Rublev last night. He scored an ATP Tour hat-trick by claiming his third title in a span of 3 weeks and he is now on a 14-match winning streak and believes that it is not over yet.
He first overcame Jannik Sinner for the ABN AMRO title in Rotterdam last month, then went on to beat Andy Murray in straight sets in Doha and defeated the defending champ Andrey Rublev in the finals at Dubai just last evening!
His biggest win in the last 3 weeks came during the Dubai semi-finals on Friday, taking down current world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in straight sets 6-4,6-4. The win against Djokovic was a shock to many as Medvedev had lost all 4 of their last encounters, and Djokovic was also on a 20-match win streak before losing to Medvedev.
The former world No. 1 seems to have found his winning rhythm, and form and is definitely looking to do more damage on tour going deeper into the season!
