Nitto ATP Finals 2022

The Nitto ATP Finals is the final ATP event of the season. Where the best in the world battle for one last title before the end of the year. I’m sure the event will be full of twists, turns and surprises. Big names like Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic will be competing in this star-studded event.

Unfortunately, the current world no. 1 Carlos Alcaraz had to withdraw from the event due to the abdominal injury he sustained from his last match at the Paris Masters 1000 event. With Carlos out of the way, current no. 2 Rafael Nadal is looking to end the season as world no. 1 for the sixth time - if he lifts the trophy for the first time in his career at an ATP Finals event.

The players are drawn into two different teams. Group Green consists of Rafael Nadal (2), Casper Ruud (4), Felix Auger-Aliassime (6) and Taylor Fritz (9). Group Red consists of Stefanos Tsitsipas (3), Daniil Medvedev (5), Andrey Rublev (7) and Novak Djokovic (8). 

Nadal has a 5-1 combined record against the players drawn into the green group which could be highly favorable to his progress into the semi-finals. Nadal only has the Nitto ATP Finals trophy missing from his impressive resume. Although he has qualified for the event 17 times in his career he has yet to win it, largely due to the ailments that have plagued him over the years.

All the guys have been playing so well this past season, making it hard to predict who will come out on top. All we know is that we will have many impressive matches coming to us in the next few days！
