Roger Federer’s Possible Return To Wimbledon 2023
The Swiss maestro Roger Federer may possibly be returning to Wimbledon this year as BBC’s commentator. It is reported that talks of Federer joining the BBC commentary team for the upcoming Wimbledon are in the advanced stages.
Roger Federer retired from professional tennis last September after 24 long years on the men’s tour. Ahead of his retirement, he thought perhaps he could commentate on tennis someday as a way of giving back to the sport. It seems like his words may be coming true soon!
Roger Federer has great moments and memories at Wimbledon having won the title 8 times. He is crowned as one of the best if not the best on grass. If he does join the commentary team as reported, we can most certainly look forward to the matches, especially if he is commentating on the matches of his long-time rivals - Djokovic and Nadal!
The inclusion of Federer would make the fans thrilled as he is one of the most well-loved players in tennis history, particularly in South London because of his achievements at Wimbledon.
It is expected that BBC will have a total overhaul of the commentating team as former professional tennis player and long-standing presenter Sue Barker had announced her retirement last year. It would be a big coup for BBC if they successfully get Federer to join the team.
We most definitely are looking forward to the Swiss maestro’s return to Wimbledon!
